The Surprise Under the Mango Tree · Shraddha & Sumukha, Red Earth Kabini

Of every wedding we have shot, this one was the most unlike the rest. A Mantra Mangalya, simple, mantra-led, held under a mango tree at Red Earth in Kabini. Exactly the wedding Shraddha had pictured in her head.

Here is the turn. It almost did not happen. The plan had drifted toward a more conventional, ritual-heavy ceremony, and Shraddha had quietly made her peace with that. Then Sumukha brought her to the venue and surprised her with the wedding she had actually dreamed of.

Vasu Dixit and Bindhumalini officiated it in song, and the day became something close to a musical. Friends sitting close, the forest holding the room, the deliberate simplicity of all of it, it lifted the whole thing into a day we felt genuinely lucky to be part of.
